ACNE
At The Dream Skin Clinic, we specialise in results-driven acne treatments that go deeper than the surface. Acne is one of the most common (and confidence-shaking) skin concerns. Whether it’s blackheads, breakouts, or inflammation, it’s often triggered by hormones, stress, excess oil, or bacteria beneath the skin.
Every result you see here comes from a customised treatment plan, combining advanced in-clinic technology with our potent in-house skincare range. We don’t just treat acne, we target its root causes, calm inflammation, and prevent future flare-ups.
Clear, confident skin isn’t a dream. It’s what we do.
COMEDONES
-
Comedones are a non-inflamed form of acne that develop when pores become congested with excess oil and dead skin cells. They often appear before more active breakouts and can persist if the skin remains congested.
-
On the face, comedones appear as small, uniform bumps or visible darkened pores. Blackheads are seen as tiny black or dark gray dots, while whiteheads appear as flesh-colored or slightly raised bumps beneath the skin.
They are most noticeable across the forehead, nose, chin, and inner cheek area where oil production is higher.
-
They form due to increased oil production, slowed skin cell turnover, and pore congestion. Hormonal changes, heavy or pore-clogging products, and inadequate exfoliation can contribute.

ACNE PAPULE
-
Acne papules are inflamed acne lesions that develop when congestion progresses and the surrounding skin becomes irritated. They indicate an active inflammatory response in the skin.
-
Papules appear as small, firm, red or pink bumps that sit slightly raised above the skin’s surface. They do not have a visible white center and may feel tender. On the face, they commonly cluster on the cheeks, chin, jawline, and lower face.
-
They result from bacteria and inflammation within blocked pores. Hormonal fluctuations, stress, friction, and aggressive skincare can worsen their appearance.

ACNE PUSTULE
-
Acne pustules are inflamed lesions that contain pus, reflecting the skin’s immune response to infection within a clogged pore.
-
On the face, pustules appear as red, swollen bumps with a clearly visible white or yellow center. They are often surrounded by redness and may occur in groups on the cheeks, chin, jawline, and around the mouth.
-
They develop when bacteria multiply within clogged pores, leading to increased inflammation. Picking or squeezing can worsen irritation and increase the risk of marks or scarring.

ACNE NODULE
-
Acne nodules are a severe form of acne that develop deep beneath the surface of the skin. They are more persistent, often painful, and carry a higher risk of long-term skin changes.
-
Nodules present as large, firm lumps under the skin that may appear red or skin-colored but lack a visible head. On the face, they are most commonly found along the jawline, chin, and lower cheeks, often feeling deep and tender.
-
They are caused by deep inflammation and follicle rupture, often influenced by hormones and genetics. Without proper care, nodules may lead to scarring.

PIGMENTATION
Pigmentation disorders, including melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and solar lentigines, are complex conditions influenced by UV exposure, hormonal fluctuations, and inflammatory processes.
Every outcome showcased is achieved through a tailored treatment plan that integrates advanced in-clinic modalities with our in-house skincare range. Our approach targets the underlying biological mechanisms, promoting cellular renewal while minimising recurrence.
Consistent, measurable improvement in tone is not just our goal—it’s our commitment.
MELASMA
-
Melasma is a chronic pigmentation condition characterised by excess pigment production, leading to visible dark patches on the skin.
-
Melasma appears as soft-edged, uneven brown or gray-brown patches that blend into the surrounding skin. On the face, it is commonly seen across the cheeks, forehead, upper lip, and center of the face, often appearing symmetrically on both sides.
-
Sun exposure is the primary trigger, along with hormonal changes such as pregnancy or birth control use. Heat and visible light can also worsen pigmentation.

EPHELIDES
-
Freckles are small pigment spots that are harmless and often fluctuate in intensity depending on sun exposure.
-
On the face, freckles appear as tiny, flat, light-to-medium brown dots scattered across the cheeks, nose, and bridge of the nose. They tend to cluster rather than form solid patches.
-
They are largely genetic and darken when the skin increases pigment production in response to sunlight.

LENTIGO
-
Lentigines, commonly known as sun or age spots, are permanent pigment spots that do not fade with reduced sun exposure.
-
They appear as clearly defined, flat brown to dark brown spots that are larger and darker than freckles. On the face, they are often seen on the cheeks, temples, and forehead.
-
They develop from cumulative sun exposure and skin aging.

POST—INFLAMMATORY HYPERPIGMENTATION
-
PPIH refers to dark marks that remain after inflammation or acne has healed, particularly in deeper skin tones.
-
On the face, PIH appears as flat brown, dark brown, or gray patches that match the shape and location of previous breakouts. These marks often linger on the cheeks, jawline, and chin.
-
They result from excess pigment production following inflammation. Sun exposure can deepen and prolong discoloration.

SCARRING
We take a science-led approach to scar revision, using advanced, clinically proven modalities to restore smoother, healthier-looking skin. Every case begins with a thorough assessment to determine scar type, depth, and skin condition—because effective treatment starts with understanding.

BOXCAR SCARS
-
Boxcar scars are depressed acne scars caused by collagen loss during the healing of inflammatory acne.
-
They appear as round or oval indentations with sharply defined edges and a flat base, giving the skin a pitted appearance. On the face, they are most noticeable on the cheeks and temples.
-
They form when acne inflammation damages collagen and the skin heals unevenly.

ROLLING SCARS
-
Rolling scars create uneven texture and give the skin a soft, wave-like appearance.
-
On the face, rolling scars appear as broad, shallow depressions with gently sloping edges, often visible when light hits the skin from the side. They are most commonly seen across the cheeks and lower face.
-
They develop due to fibrous bands beneath the skin that pull the surface downward following acne inflammation.

ICEPICK SCARS
-
Ice pick scars are deep acne scars that extend below the surface of the skin and are more challenging to treat.
-
They appear as narrow, deep holes that look like small puncture marks or enlarged pores. On the face, they are most often found on the cheeks.
-
They result from severe inflammatory acne that damages deeper layers of the skin.

ENLARGED PORES
-
Enlarged pores are visible pore openings that affect the overall smoothness of the skin.
-
On the face, enlarged pores appear as round or oval openings that create a textured or uneven look. They are most noticeable on the nose, inner cheeks, and central face.
-
They are influenced by excess oil production, loss of skin elasticity, genetics, and congestion.

POST—INFLAMMATORY ERYTHEMA
-
PIE refers to lingering redness left behind after acne or irritation has healed.
-
PIE appears as flat pink, red, or purplish marks that mirror the shape of previous breakouts. These marks are commonly seen on the cheeks, chin, and jawline.
-
PIE is caused by weakened or dilated blood vessels following inflammation and may persist longer without proper skin barrier support and sun protection.
