Summer Skin Prep
While summer entices us with its sunny beach days and warm picnic weather, it can keep us on our toes by being temperamental.
Sometimes it will be nice and warm, other times it can be extremely hot, dry or even humid. In order to keep up with summer’s unpredictable changes, we have gathered our top tips to ensure that your skin is kept happy and healthy.
Combine your moisturiser and SPF
At The Dream Skin Clinic, we follow a strategic layering technique to allow the potent active ingredients in our dr. dream skincare products to be absorbed effectively in the skin.
When you reach the end of your morning skincare routine, we recommend mixing your Hydramemory Deep Active Moisturiser or Cold Plazma Brightening Cream and Urban Protective Sun Cream SPF 40 PA++ together (or both the Hydra Moisturiser and Brightening Cream with the Sun Cream if you’re feeling a little gung-ho ).
This promotes better application and finish whilst still obtaining hydration from the Moisturiser/Brightening Cream and getting maximum protection from the Sun Cream.
2. Exfoliate with a chemical or physical exfoliating treatment
To achieve that sun-kissed, glowy complexion, exfoliating is a must. Why? We want to remove any dead skin cells and enhance skin cell turnover rate to reveal that youthful gleam.

3. We can’t mention this enough - ALWAYS SPF
Even though we inform our clients to use SPF every day whether it rains or shines, we really emphasise it during summer. Summer’s sneaky heat compels us to wear lighter clothing which means additional exposure to UVA and UVB rays.
The difference between UVA and UVB rays is that UVA rays result in skin ageing and increase the risk of skin cancer whereas UVB rays cause skin burning. So, your skin requires protection from both of these types of rays.
