Easter Prep Tips & Tricks

Bright colours, family & friend get-togethers, Easter egg hunts, an exorbitant amount of food - it looks like Easter is here!

While it feels like forever since the last holiday blog post about Christmas and New Year, we’re here to give you top-secret skin tips so it (and you!) can stay happy and healthy throughout this cheerful holiday period.

1. Substitute with Dark Chocolate

A sure sign Easter is approaching is when we start seeing an incredible amount of chocolate eggs and bunnies in our local supermarkets.

As we know, diet plays a massive role in improving and/or maintaining skin health. There’s a general understanding that high intake of sugar, dairy products and unhealthy fats can cause congestion and acne breakouts in the skin.

We encourage all our clients to be mindful of chocolates or any kinds of foods with high contents of sugar because they have the potential to negatively impact your skin. Instead, SUBSTITUTE with some good quality dark chocolate! Remember, moderation is key!

2. Strengthen Your Skin

If you’re wanting that beautiful glow from within, pop into the clinic and experience a few Healite Therapy sessions a couple of days prior to your Easter gatherings.

If you’re a new client or you’ve stumbled upon this blog page (hi, nice to meet you BTW), check out our blog post “How to: Healing with Light” to learn more of the incredible benefits of this treatment. It's truly a game-changer.

Not only will your skin be radiant and have that gorgeous, healthy glow, but your skin barrier will be stronger. Strong skin is our signature here at The Dream Skin Clinic.

3. Stay Hydrated

It goes without saying that drinking water is extremely important - even more so when you’re letting loose and relaxing during the holiday season (which is totally okay).

Remember that drinking an appropriate amount of water will not only keep your general health in check, but it’ll keep your skin happy and supple too.

4. Wear SPF

If you’re one of the Dream Team’s regular clients or you’ve been keeping up with our blog posts, you’ll know that we don’t take SPF lightly.

In fact, every reputable skin therapist will highlight the importance of SPF. It’s such an important factor of ALL skincare routines.

When you’re out doing Easter egg hunts, be sure to apply SPF on any areas that’s exposed to sunlight to protect yourself from sun damage no matter if you're indoors/outdoors or if it's a cloudy/sunny day. SPF is your first defence system to protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays.

Remember, these can worsen existing pigmentation or even create new areas of pigmentation so it’s an essential!

5. Enjoy Yourself

Last but not least, we want everyone to HAVE FUN during this festive period.

We often find ourselves lost in the daily routine of studying or working (or even both). We often forget about taking care of ourselves and maintaining special connections with friends and family. It’s time to take off your shoes, kick back and relax - or rather, running around to see who can be the first to fill up their Easter egg basket! 👀🥚

We hope everyone enjoys the holidays with their loved ones and the Dream Team wishes everybody a lovely Easter celebration!
