Men: Treatment, Skincare & Advice

So here we are again, welcoming all men who are interested in strengthening and improving their skin’s health.

Today we will be looking through three topics: Skincare, Treatment and advice.

Now it’s time to pay attention because there will be a little quiz at the end, just for you.

The Dream School is now in session!

Click on these tabs to learn more about each topic! Study hard!

  • Generally, men tend to have thicker skin so it can be more resilient and can require a bit more exfoliation. Beards or constant shaving can also come with issues like dry skin, irritation and ingrown hairs. Though, flaky, dry, inflamed and/or irritated skin happens to anyone who isn’t looking after their skin regardless of gender.

The best thing you can do for your skin is to find a skin professional like the lovely ladies here at The Dream Skin Clinic. We will assess your skin, tell you your skin type and recommend the right products for your specific concerns.

Your routine should contain these three essentials: A cleanser, a moisturiser, and an SPF. These three products are the building blocks of your routine.

  • Unfortunately from a mere blog post, we cannot give you a clear answer on what treatment is best for YOU.

Booking a consultation is the best way forward to learning about what treatments we offer and what works best for your skin.

Did you know that our skin renews and regenerates naturally every 28 days but with ageing and other external factors this process is slowed and becomes irregular. Leaving your skin unattended can provoke the appearance of skin concerns such as blemishes, shine and texture. Customised peels consist of promoting accelerated skin regeneration in a controlled manner and are completely tailored to you.

Hydro Microdermabrasion is also a great exfoliator that removes the superficial layer of dry and dead skin cells to address the skin’s overall texture and quality resulting in healthy and glowing skin.

As we’ve mentioned, as far as treatments go we recommend booking a consultation first. We want what’s best for your skin so giving us the opportunity to create a tailored treatment plan means you will be in the best hand of people who truly care for your skin.

    • In some cases, men experience dehydration, acne, dryness, blackheads and hyperpigmentation a little more than women. To combat those, you must find out what your skin concerns are and tailor your skincare routine to address them.

    • Anyone can use any skincare product, so long as it's suited to your skin type and concerns, don’t start using something that aggravates your skin. Check with your dermal clinician first.

    • You don't have to use heavily-scented, electric blue products that are ‘made for men’ if they don't work for you. Skincare doesn’t have a gender after all. Your skin is simply another organ. You have to look after it.

    • Don’t be shy to book a consultation with us, we’d rather help you every step of the way than you struggling to work your way through the world of skincare. Let us do the hard work and you can sit back and enjoy the experience.

Quiz time!

There will be three questions, one for each topic. Don’t cheat! Try to remember what we’ve talk about.

1) Skincare: What are the three building blocks of products that start a good skincare routine?

2) Treatments: What is the best way of making sure that your treatments work best for you?

3) Advice: Wow! This product says ‘Made for Strong Manly Men’, I don’t want to check the ingredients but I am a strong manly man. Should I use it? Why/why not?

Did you get 3/3? Leave us a comment on our blog reminder post to tell us if you got them all right!

If you missed any then we think it’s time to study a little more. Read through our other blog posts to make sure you’re up to date with all the skin knowledge you need.

Either way, we are a clinic with a reputation for results.

Experience these results for yourself.

Book a consultation with us here to start your skin’s journey.
