Hair Growth Cycle
In this newest post of Let’s Talk Skin, let’s talk about
Hair Growth Cycle!
Ever wonder why your hair seems to have a mind of its own—growing, shedding, and sprouting anew? Well, it's all thanks to the fascinating hair growth cycle!
Today, we’re here to break it down for you.
Before we dive into each phase, let's take a moment to understand that the hair growth cycle has four parts.
Let's get ready to explore these four phases together!
The Anagen Phase marks the active growth period of the hair follicles.
During this phase, cells within the hair root divide rapidly, facilitating the growth of new hair strands.
Following the Anagen Phase, the hair enters the Catagen Phase —
a transitional stage.
This is a transitional period where your hair takes a brief pause to adjust before moving forward.
After the catagen phase, the hair follicles enter a resting period known as the Telogen Phase.
During this phase, no new hair growth occurs and the existing hair remains in place.
The final phase of the hair growth cycle is the Exogen Phase.
This phase involves the shedding of old hair to make way for new growth.
This phase is crucial for maintaining healthy hair and ensuring the continuous renewal of the hair follicles.
Now that we've gained insight into the different stages of the hair loss cycle, it's time to explore what can be done for those experiencing hair loss.
Q. Why does hair loss occur?
Hair loss can happen due to genetics, hormonal changes, stress, and nutritional deficiencies. It can also be caused by medications, treatments, and certain hair care practices.
One common cause of excessive hair loss and thinning is an imbalance in the number of hairs in the anagen (growth) phase compared to the number of hairs in the telogen (resting) phase. If there aren't enough hairs in the anagen phase, it can lead to decreased hair density and thinning.
On the other hand, if there's an excessive amount of hair in the telogen phase, it can also lead to hair loss.
So, both scenarios—either not enough hair in the
anagen phase or excessive hair in the telogen phase—
can contribute to hair loss and thinning.
The next step is discovering effective treatment options and navigating the timeline of hair loss interventions.
Whether you're just noticing thinning or have been struggling with hair loss, there are tailored
treatment options available to address your needs and concerns.
This client underwent the Alocuro Hair Treatment at our clinic's Dream Medical Division.
Q. What is Alocuro Hair Treatment?
Alocuro is a cosmetic procedure that involves harvesting and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from a your own blood to promote rejuvenation and healing.
It effectively activates hair follicles with potent growth factors, which offers a more efficient and impactful solution for hair regeneration.
Q. How does it affect our overall hair growth?
In cases where there's insufficient hair in the anagen phase (growth phase), the platelet-rich plasma (PRP) works by stimulating dermal papilla cells to multiply and waking up inactive hair follicles. This process prolongs the growth phase of hair, leading to more hair growth and thicker density.
Alocuro hair treatment can also be beneficial when there's an excessive number of hairs in the telogen phase (resting phase). The treatment works by waking up inactive hair follicles and helping hair grow. This encourages hairs that are in the resting phase to start growing again, which means fewer hairs are just sitting still.
Additionally, PRP therapy improves the health and quality of existing hair follicles. This can result in thicker, stronger hair shafts that are less prone to shedding during the telogen phase.
Alocuro hair treatment boosts the health of hair follicles by providing growth factors directly to the scalp. This helps prevent more hair from falling out and encourages the growth of new hair.
*Some result is typically noticeable after the third treatment, although the the degree of improvement varies based on the severity of hair loss.
Homecare is consistently maintained throughout the treatment journey, starting before the initial session. Results are usually visibale after the third treatment, though the extent of improvement depends on the severity of hair loss. It's essential to note that individual outcomes may vary.
Our treatment timeline showcases the progressive steps involved in revitalising your hair and restoring its health. From optimising follicle function to promoting strong hair growth, each stage is carefully designed to rejuvenate your hair from root to tip.
