Dream Diaries - Episode: 1

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to my Dream Diaries.

In this series, I will be talking about my treatments, skin care and daily clinic life.

Today’s episode is about how my skin reacted to being away from Melbourne for 5 whole weeks!

I was away in Europe visiting family and I feel like a lot of clients here at The Dream Skin Clinic are doing the same at this time. Like most people who care for their skin, I brought my skincare along to try and ease the initial shock of going into a warm, humid season.

Initially, when I arrived in Europe, I found that I was sweating a lot more, it was packed with people and pollution heavy. A bit of a nasty shock to my skin!

As I was there for 5 weeks, I noticed my skin struggling to adjust to the dramatic change in environment and a few pimples and congestion was beginning to appear. I even found that my skin was starting to get dehydrated in my trouble spots. (A factor may be because I was wearing makeup every. Single. Day. I also skipped a few days of skincare when I was super tired. Not Good… I know!!)

When I came back I was a little… Self-conscious. My skin didn’t look as nice as it had before I left and the pimples just kept on coming! I’m very lucky to say that I could come to The Dream Skin Clinic for help.

I started treatments again and was diligent with my skincare. The turnaround for my skin was pretty good considering I had been away for so long.

But the main thing was that I was CONSISTENT!

But let me tell you… When I did my Observe Pictures… There was SO. MUCH. GUNK. Hiding in my skin. I couldn’t believe it.

I think the main issue for myself was that I wasn’t as consistent as I should’ve been with my skincare and maybe I should’ve given my skin a rest while I was away..

But now I know for next time.

Here are my final tips for when you’re travelling and can’t receive treatments while you’re away:

- Be consistent with your skincare, adjust it to however you need.
- Stay in contact with your therapist to voice any concerns you may be happening. They’re here to help!
- Ensure you’re wearing sunscreen every day whether you’re away or at home.
- When wearing makeup, try to use mineral products so it sits on the top of your skin rather than seeping into your pores.
- Jump back into your treatments when you return so you can get back on track. Don’t put it off!
